The Thornleigh Percussion Band which comprises of students from all years is a drum group which was created by Mr Talbot in September 2007.
The group come together every Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtime and play drum music taken from famous groups like STOMP and from world cultures like Samba from Brazil. The students also create their own unique pieces in which to thrill their audiences with. Since the percussion band began they have played numerous gigs for the local community which include:
- School Christmas Concert
- Year 11 Awards Evening
- Thornleigh Summer Fayre
- Bolton Battle of the Bands Evening
- Morrisons and Tesco Performances
- National Festival For Youth Competition
- Private Party for the Managing Director of 'Parcel2Go'
- Horwich carnival 2008
- Thornleigh Come Dancing Final 2009
The drum band is always looking for new members!!!
You do not need to have any previous drumming experience to join.
