Oxford Bound

Joe McFarlane is off to Manchester University to study medicine after gaining three straight As in his A-levels.  Joe said: "I feel great.  I can't believe the results I have got.."

Oxford Bound

Tom Heaton is off to read Japanese at Balliol College at Oxford University.  He scored and A* in biology and As in chemistry and physics.  He said:  "I have been interested in the language since I was a child.  The language is good for business and I can further my interest in it". 

He added:  "It has been a hard year for students given the demand on university places."

 

GCSE Results 2010

A huge congratulations to all students and staff - 95% of students achieved 5 or more A* - C grades and 61% of students achieved 5 or more A* - C grades including English and Maths.

All A level results can be collected from the main school hall from 10 am on Thursday 19th August

Vacancy for Parent Governor at Thornleigh Salesian College

‘Vacancy for Parent Governor at Thornleigh Salesian College – as from September 2010 for 4 years.

A vacancy has arisen for a Parent Governor, and that a new Parent Governor must be elected by the parents of registered students at the school

Thornleigh Pupil at Downing Street!

A pupil at Thornleigh College was invited to a very special birthday party at Downing Street on Monday. The student from Bolton was invited to celebrate the 15th birthday of the fair trade logo with Mrs Sarah Brown and the comedian Harry Hill.

The group gathered at Downing Street to raise awareness of fair trade just as Cadbury is launching the first major fair trade product in their range.
